ABOUT
Evgeniya Pankratova (b. 1997, Moscow) is a contemporary artist based in San Donà di Piave, Italy. Her practice explores the space between the everyday and the symbolic, using staged architectural settings where objects, gestures, and miniature figures acquire new meaning. Working with multilayered oil painting, she constructs illusionistic scenes shaped by light, composition, and theatrical framing.
Recurring motifs — fabrics, stars, hands, small objects — act as a visual vocabulary through which familiar elements shift into “everyday myths.” Her works investigate how environments, whether real or imagined, form emotional and symbolic experience. Light becomes a mediator between the visible and the hidden, while gestures operate as subtle carriers of narrative.
For Pankratova, painting is both observation and a meditative process, in which layered images become a space of quiet tension and reflection. She is represented by Mimmo Scognamiglio Gallery, Milan.
